Sumio Mabuchi (馬淵 澄夫 Mabuchi Sumio , born August 23, 1960) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Nara, Nara and graduate of Yokohama National University, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2003 after an unsuccessful run in 2000.[1]
On September 17, 2010, Mabuchi was named as the new Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in the reshuffled Naoto Kan cabinet.[2] Mabuchi left Prime Minister Kan's cabinet on January 14, 2011.[3]
